Dear FEI 3* Competitor:

Article 1008 of the FEI Veterinary Regulations requires us to provide stables for our FEI 3* athletes. They are not required at the 1* and 2* CIM levels. The I* and 2* horses will be housed in enclosures (paddocks provided by you) at Ride Camp in a separate FEI area as we usually do at FITS. This year you will have numbered spaces assigned to you for parking. We will draw these by lottery to be fair. This is to ensure sight lines so that the FEI horses at their trailers are observable at all times by the Officials.
**Only riders, crew and officials will have access to this barn. We will furnish wrist bands to you and your crew in your Rider Packet.**

Also, Article 1043 of the Veterinary Regulations, section 14 states:

"To ensure that Horses have adequate rest between travel and Competition, and to ensure adequate veterinary supervision before and after a ride, at all CEI2*, CEI34, and Championships, subject to the discretion of the Veterinary Commission, all competing Horses must remain in the stable area at the Event under veterinary supervision (by the President of the Veterinary Commission, the Foreign Veterinary Delegate, a member of the Veterinary Commission, and/or a Treating Veterinarian) for (1) a minimum of eight hours before the First (Pre-Ride) Inspection for CEI2* and CEI3* (subject to published closing times for the stables), and (ii) a minimum of eight hours after the Horse finishes the Competition"

Accordingly, 3* horses must arrive on the Grounds and be checked in by 8am on March 5th at the latest. Please proceed to Ride Camp to be checked in at vetting. After check in, your horse can be hand walked or ridden to the stables and you can bring any gear over to the stables using your vehicle. Once your horse is checked in, it can't be transported off the grounds by trailer unless withdrawn from competition.
~ All 3* Horses Must Be Securely Stabled in Barn 2 by 6 pm on March 5th
~ Barn 2 will close March 5th at 10 pm
~ Barn 2 will open 4 am March 6th
~ Horses will be escorted to the start line at 5:45am by our Trail Master, Kelsey Russell. You are welcome to ride or walk in hand to the start line
~ Check-in is at 6:15am
~ Start is at 6:30am

You may physically arrive on the Grounds as early as 2pm on Wednesday, the 4th. Once you have checked in by 8am on Thursday the 5th, your horse must be stabled. Before then, you can use an enclosure in your camping area. After your finish, be prepared to stable your horse for a minimum of 8 hours, knowing that the Veterinary Commission can release him or her earlier at their discretion.
We look forward to hosting you at FITS. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
